About

Emily Ryan, ND, MSOM, LAc

Emily Ryan is a licensed and board certified Naturopathic Doctor and Acupuncturist. She also is a Nationally Certified Diplomate of Acupuncture through the NCCAOM. She graduated with her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine and Master of Science in Oriental Medicine with honors from the National University of Natural Medicine.

Born in Korea, Emily has been grateful to revisit her home country at various times over the years, and has had several opportunities to volunteer at the orphanage where she once lived as a child. Her research in medical anthropology at The University of Hawai’i and George Mason University, two language and culture programs at Obirin University (Tokyo) and Sogang University (Seoul), and studies of Chinese herbal medicine and qigong in China has provided a diverse background that has helped form a foundation for her healthcare career.

Emily focuses on many gentle styles of acupuncture and bodywork including cranialsacral therapy. Using these modalities along with homeopathy, nutrition, and nature cure, she works closely with her patients to find the best therapeutic methods to help support them in their journeys of revitalizing their health. She takes the time to listen to her patients' own individual stories, so they feel heard. Her main focus is restoring ease in the mind and body through gentle, patient-centered care and compassionate guidance.

Emily's interests also include hiking, biking, rafting, playing music, gardening, yoga, and qigong. She is pleased to have been an active member in the local community gardens and yoga community for over 7 years. Her educational, professional, and personal background have led her to strive for a healthy, nutritious, and environmentally sustainable lifestyle. Emily is deeply grateful to her many teachers, mentors, colleagues and friends including Bob Quinn, Daniel Silver, Heiner Fruehauf, Paul Kalnins and many more that has encouraged her commitment to ongoing studies of Naturopathic and classical Chinese medicine to better serve her community.
