1WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY FREE 15 MINUTE CONSULTATION?
This is a meet and greet opportunity to see if Dr. Emily Ryan would be a good fit as one of your healthcare providers. In the time that this allows, we will discuss your medical needs, expectations, health goals, and what has and has not worked for you in the past. This consultation is an opportunity to explore how we can work together to support your well being while reaching your health goals. This consultation may be in-person, via videoconference, or over the phone. Due to state laws, Dr. Emily Ryan cannot offer any medical advice during the consultation. We provide this service starting at your New Patient Appointment which you can schedule here.
2WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?
A New Patient Appointment is 1 hour and 45 minutes long. You can schedule your appointment here and fill out your New Patient Consent & Intake Forms. We ask that you complete your New Patient Consent & Intake Forms at least 48 hours before your appointment. Before your first visit, Dr. Emily Ryan will have already reviewed your new patient intake forms. During your visit she will take a thorough health history, including but not limited to family history, past medical history, current symptoms, medications and supplements, diet, lifestyle, exercise habits, sleep habits, and stress and energy levels. Pertinent medical exams will also be performed, as well as gentle acupuncture and bodywork as seen fit. It is her priority to create a safe space for you to explore your health and wellness goals. At the end of your visit, Dr. Emily Ryan will recommend a thorough wellness plan that is unique to you.
3HOW LONG IS MY APPOINTMENT? HOW MUCH DO APPOINTMENTS COST? HOW DO I PAY?
New Patient Appointments are 1 hour and 45 minutes minutes long. Returning Patient Appointments are generally 75 minutes long, but can vary from 30-90 minutes. Since the length of Returning Patient Appointments may vary at times, the cost is billed in 15 minute increments. Payments are due at the time of service. The cost of prescriptions, supplements, laboratory tests and imaging are not included in the cost of the visit. Please see our scheduling page for all appointment costs and payment details.
4HOW CAN I RESCHEDULE OR CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT? WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?
Please be aware that I ask patients for a 48-hour notice if they need to reschedule or cancel an appointment. Late cancellations or missed appointments incur a $65.00 fee or greater, as I am unable to reschedule the appointment with another patient without sufficient notice. If you do not call to cancel your appointment and do not show up, you will be charged the full price of the visit. Our FREE 15 minute consultation is complimentary, but if you miss your appointment, you will be charged $25.
5DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
Dr. Emily Ryan does not accept insurance at this time. However, appointment and other additional medical costs may be reimbursed through some health savings accounts (HSA) or flexible spending accounts (FSA). It is helpful to call your insurance provider for more specific information. Please note that we do not call or intervene with your insurance company.
6HOW CAN I ACCESS THE CHARM PATIENT PORTAL AND WHAT CAN I DO THERE?
The ChARM patient portal allows you to:
- Directly send and receive email messages with Dr.Emily Ryan
- Upload and access lab tests and imaging results
- Access wellness plans
- Request prescription refills
The ChARM patient portal, accessible to all existing clients, offers email correspondence with Dr. Emily Ryan.
This is available for quick clarification of previously recommended therapies. She will not offer any new advice via email and suggests that you schedule a 75 minute Returning Patient Appointment to address new concerns or if replies require more than 10 minutes of her time.
In most cases, Dr. Emily Ryan will require a Returning Patient, Brief Appointment for lab review, which will allow ample time to explain interpretation of the results, provide a plan to address any abnormal results, and answer any questions that you may have. Normal results that do not require interpretation or treatment can be discussed over a free 5 minute phone call.
7HOW CAN I ACCESS MY TELEMEDICINE APPOINTMENT?
Once your appointment is made, you will be emailed a link to https://zoom.us/j/5412248090 or click here, so that you can access your Telemedicine Appointment with Dr. Emily Ryan. As a new patient, your email will also include all of the necessary information to make your first appointment run smoothly
8CAN I SEEK TREATMENT ABOUT SOMEONE IN MY FAMILY OR A FRIEND?
Dr. Emily Ryan cannot offer any medical advice to anyone that is not an established patient. If you have questions regarding the care of a family member or friend, please have them schedule a New Patient Appointment
9CAN YOU WORK WITH MY OTHER HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS?
Yes, absolutely. Dr. Emily Ryan encourages a well-rounded healthcare team to provide the best resources for your wellness. Upon request and with your consent, she can communicate with your other healthcare providers to share lab results, wellness plans, and chart notes, and discuss your case when indicated. Dr. Emily Ryan will also make any necessary referrals to specialists when indicated.
